“Tropical-Flamenco-Funk” …Harold Belskus is a master of his own style. Crafted from Classical Spanish techniques, soulful R&B grooves, and rich harmonic textures, this music will have you dreaming of dancing down the moonlit streets of a palm-breezy paradise…

“…the sound is so diverse and distinct that one moment you’ll hear bluegrass you’re moving your feet to, and the next second you’re pondering if you’re catching hints of Afro-Cuban rhythms in the same song. #musicnerdproblems”
-Seattle Art Museum

“He’s our go-to musician, simply the best. Whether it’s intimate classical guitar for a romantic dinner, or an all-out dance party with a full band, Harold and his ensembles always provide the perfect tunes!” -Columbia Tower Club

“Energetic, fun, professional who brought a charged ambience to our Club these past summers!!” – Bellevue Club and Hotel

“The perfect combination of entertainment and artistry for any occasion. They can even roam and mingle with guests while performing; it’s a very personal and engaging treat. We love having them whenever possible!” – Seattle Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass

“Harold was an awesome addition to our event. Our guests loved the upbeat tempo and swanky style. He was easy to work with and tailored the tunes to our needs for an energetic, crowd-pleasing atmosphere. We will certainly call on him again!” – El Gaucho Restaurants

“…They have an uncanny ability to breathe life and fun into any crowd! We’ve been lucky enough to have them at multiple events, both corporate and “just for fun” parties, and the response we receive from guests is overwhelming. We highly recommend for any occasion!” -Seattle Met Magazine: Events

“A brilliant, classy, crowd favorite at our restaurants and bars…” – Seattle Restaurants Unlimited

“Harold and his band simply made the evening. From the beautiful violin and guitar duet for our wedding ceremony, to the small band for dinner, and then the big band for dancing, even singing our favorite songs in Spanish and Portuguese, it was very impressive! But not only that, also DJ-ing a perfect dance mix until the night’s end, we couldn’t ask for better!” – Audra & Steven Matos

Own words…

“It’s been the biggest blessing to grow up on the West Coast, to have experienced as much of the world as I have so far, and digest the rich diversity, artistic expression, and spontaneity blossoming all around us. These days we can absorb so many genres, techniques, and idioms, from around the world, to our own hearts’ content. We aren’t constrained to one tradition, except that of innovation. It’s a full color wheel of flavors and eons of musical history at our fingertips. This age and place we live in is monumental, and so should be our art.”

“I perform with the most passionate people around, and that’s what’s most important in music, or art, or life for that matter. Names and labels come and go, but that rich soulful quality, coming from years at a labor of love, now that’s the timeless gooey goodness we should all strive for….”

-Harold Belskus

Starting with electric guitar and drums at 12 years old, by 18, Harold was playing bass in Seattle rock groups, had regional radio airplay, headlined the Showbox in Seattle, toured the West Coast, and attended the 2005 MTV VMA’s on a personal invite by Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. Harold left the rock scene in 2006 to explore higher education, solo performance, travel, and to snowboard. Now, with a Cornish College of the Arts Music Degree in Composition and Performance, the background has diversified. Having performed reggae sets in Mexico, hip-hop in Belize, gypsy-jazz in Costa Rica, sacred Kirtan chants in Denver, and Americana-Funk across the US, there is a constant search for something new and exciting.

An especially noteworthy performance was the inaugural 2009 Ice Music Festival at Beaver Creek, Colorado. World-renowned ice-artist Tim Linhart carved a concert hall, complete with beautiful and playable instruments, all out of ice, at 11,000 ft, atop the ski resort. With Harold as the featured performer and band leader, the astonishing 5-day festival sold-out completely, leaving attendees enthralled. As wide and wild as this musical adventure has been, it is only a humble beginning. Self-taught until 2009, Harold then studied classical guitar with Michael Nicolella, composition with Jovino Santos-Neto, graduated from Cornish College of the Arts, and now performs solo, and with his bands, across North and Central America.
